The following tables provide data comparing the costs of surgical procedures in the US with the costs in Thailand. Costs are rounded for ease of discussion. Most of the Thailand data was obtained from the Bumrungrad International Hospital website as of 3 Oct 2006. BIH data includes ancillary hospital costs i.e. anesthesia, anesthesiologist fee, OR charge, hospital room, standard lab fees, medications, etc., for a standard, non-complicated procedure. Estimated charges are subject to change. (1)
The first chart shows the savings for the Top 5 Cosmetic Procedures of 2005. The second chart lists three of the more common, non-elective procedures. For the residents of Canada and the UK who are considering jumping the queue to the US, Canadian and British currencies are included.
